The current record for the most expensive real estate deal is held by Ken Griffin, who paid $238 million for a New York City penthouse in 2019.

A Naples beachfront estate is currently listed for sale for $295 million, and if the final sale price is anywhere near that, it will break the record for the priciest home sale in the US.

Dubbed Gordon Pointe, the 9-acre property on a private peninsula has three homes, a yacht basin, and a private dock with room for up to six boats.

Financier John Donahue and his wife, Rhodora, paid $1 million for a 4.3-acre parcel on the peninsula in 1985. Over the years, they acquired more land, ending up with nearly 60 acres in the gated Port Royal community. The Donahues hosted several notable guests on the property, including former President George W. Bush and Barbara Bush.

The couple has since passed away, and now their 13 children and 84 children have decided to part ways with this portion of the family’s property. The current record for the most expensive real estate deal is held by Ken Griffin, who paid $238 million for a New York City penthouse in 2019. Currently, the second-most expensive home listed is Casa Encantada in Los Angeles for $195 million.
