WalletHub has unveiled its 2024 rankings of the most “sinful” cities in the US spotlighting Florida as a state with several entries on the list.
While Nevada’s Las Vegas remains the top “Sin City,” Florida’s cities earned notable mentions for their bad behavior.
“From beer-loving Milwaukee to decadent New Orleans, the U.S. is filled with people behaving illicitly. No place is innocent—we all have flaws, and at some point, we all have to pay for our vices,” WalletHub noted.

Miami, renowned for its nightlife, cultural diversity, and vibrant gastronomy, emerged as Florida’s most sinful city. It ranked within the top 10 nationally at number 8, praised, (or perhaps criticized), for its lively entertainment scene, high levels of indulgence, and reputation for excess. The city is also known for luxurious parties, stunning beaches, and bustling nightlife districts.
Orlando, the “Theme Park Capital of the World,” also made a significant appearance in WalletHub’s rankings. While better known for family-friendly attractions, the city’s bustling tourism industry contributes to excessive spending and revelry, earning it the 13th place among the most sinful cities in the nation.
Tampa and Fort Lauderdale also joined the list, with Tampa standing out at 27 for its adult entertainment scene and Fort Lauderdale for its beach parties and vibrant nightlife ranking at 29.
Miami performed particularly well in categories related to vanity and lust, while Orlando and Tampa ranked higher in the greed and gluttony indexes. The rankings drew from metrics like the number of adult entertainment venues, casinos, and instances of online dating.
Other Florida cities to make the ranking include Jacksonville (49), St. Petersburg (87), Hialeah (109), Pembroke Pines (139), Tallahassee (140), Cape Coral (177), and Port St. Lucie (180).
