Dozens of Florida teachers are reportedly resigning from Hernando County Schools due to state laws and directives that they say restrict their ability to do their jobs.
As part of the protest, they registered to vote and pledged to use their votes to defend students' rights.
While the state remains at the bottom of national rankings in health care, school funding, and education, taxpayers have spent millions of dollars to fight the governor’s war on what he calls “woke ideology.”
Among the state institutions that have implemented the ban are University of Florida, Florida State University, Florida Atlantic University, New College, and University of South Florida.
With his growing culture wars and anti- “woke” rhetoric that target public education, the Republican governor could drive Florida’s young people out of state.
