Franklin II, a member of the Florida House of Representatives for the 8th district, told Floricua during an interview to discuss the role of the blue party in the Sunshine State. It is true, the Democrat for Florida’s 8th district says, that Democrats have always been strong supporters of programs like Social Security and Medicare. But the Democratic party is also a strong proponent of what he calls “conscious capitalism,” as well as of providing opportunities for those who want to forge a solid economic future for their families in the US. Conscious capitalism, Franklin says, “is not about exploiting people to work for low wages.
