From Disney World’s event dedicated to family fun to Universal Orlando’s scary fun houses, there’s something for everyone during the Halloween 2024 season.
Vampires, witches, and goblins, oh my! Yes, it’s almost that time of year when the leaves turn in a dazzling display of autumn colors, the delicious aroma of pumpkin spice inundates our coffee shops, and folks start thinking of fun ways to celebrate the spookiest time of the year.
What better way to enjoy the spookfest than visiting any one of Florida’s theme parks? With fun events for the whole family plus scare-fests for adults only, these terrifically terrifying attractions are sure to thrill!
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Disney World
Disney World has scared up some really spooky fun for the whole family during Halloween 2024, starting with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, a spellbinding celebration where kids will be greeted in person (or is that “in mouse”?) by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse themselves, dressed in their resplendent new neon spider web attire.
But be aware! As visitors walk through the enchanted grounds, they should be on the lookout for the famous Disney villains skulking all around.
Then there’s the spectacular Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, where visitors will thrill to favorite characters — like Clarabelle Cow and Daisy Duck dressed as the sinister Sanderson Sisters, scary hitchhiking ghosts, and the creepy spectral bride — as they glide among waltzing spirits.
To make the Halloween celebration even more fun (and delicious), visitors can gather up goodies at any of the following spots: Market Street Welcome Trick-or-Treating, Tortuga Tavern, Tom Sawyer Island Dock, Princess Fairytale Hall, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and more!
Those with a food allergy can see a cast member to pick up a teal-colored treat bag to receive a teal token at treat stations, which they can later redeem at the Allergy-Friendly Centers for special treats!

Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios Orlando
For those who prefer their Halloween a little scarier, this year’s Universal Studio Orlando’s thrill-fest will feature five “scare zones” and 10 haunted houses, including A Quiet Place, Ghostbuster: Frozen Empire, and Insidious: The Further.
Be warned: The scare zones are not for children or the faint of heart. One such place is called Enter the Blumhouse, a sinister abode with a horrific cast of sinister characters, from the terrifying M3GAN to The Purge.
Then there is the Demon Queens’ scare zone, a hellscape populated by four merciless queens bent on scaring the daylights out of the puny mortals who dare enter their realm. And don’t forget the Swamp of the Undead, where visitors will be literally swamped with zombies of other unfortunate trespassers.
Of course, there’s also live entertainment. Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus both chills and dazzles with aerialists and pyros performing to the throbbing sound of rock music. Some rides will be open during the event, although they are subject to change without notice.

Brick-Or-Treat, Legoland Florida
What’s the ghoul news, you say? To start with, this year Brick-or-Treat’s Monster Party at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort runs until October 27 and includes an all-new aerial drone show with 500 state-of-the-art drones combined with a spectacular fireworks display.
There is also live entertainment for the whole family, featuring haunted shows and interactive performances guaranteed to scare you silly, and, of course, lots of trick-or-treating — er, brick-or-treating — throughout the park in completely transformed candy zones.
While collecting candy, visitors can take the opportunity to strike a pose and take photos with the LEGO Spider Queen, LEGO Mummy, LEGO Wolf Guy, LEGO Zombie Cheerleader, and LEGO Lord Vampyre, as they will be at themed meet-and-greets, as well as roaming the park.

Howl-O-Scream, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
This one is strictly for hard-core Halloween fanatics who are unafraid to face the darkest, most terrifying side of All Hallows’ Eve. And when we say terrifying, we mean terrifying.
Mere mortals who enter this dark realm will be dismayed to discover that “unspeakable horror lives in every dark corner” of the park, from horror-filled haunted houses and frightful scare zones to ghoulish roaming hoards. There is also a circus of fear, a coven of witches, and Florida’s wildest rides at night.
There’s even a Scare-E-Oke for those musically inclined! Visitors can select a song and take their turn behind the mic to belt out a song. They can even take home a photo of their experience. No wonder Howl-O-Scream was voted one of the Top 10 Best Halloween Theme Park Events by USA TODAY’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
However, because it contains intense adult content, such as violence, gore, and blood, it is intended for mature audiences only. Howl-O-Scream is a separately-ticketed night event, and no costumes are allowed.
