If you’ve been looking for a place where you can bailarlo like the best of them, look no more. From Dirty Rabbit in Wynwood to Tipsy Flamingo in the Magic City’s Downtown, we’ve got you covered.

Reggaetón! Who doesn’t love it? Inspired by the Jamaican immigrants who went to Panama in the 1970s to work on improvements to the famous canal, that infectious, almost hypnotic rhythm soon found its way to Puerto Rico, where it was influenced by hip-hop and renamed “reggaetón,” or reggae de Puerto Rico.

The rest, as they say, is history, as artists from the island — from Daddy Yankee to Ivy Queen, and from Nicky Jam to Don Omar — helped spread this booming sound all over the world.

Sí, mi gente, reggae de Puerto Rico is heard all over Europe, Asia and the Americas, and if the James Webb telescope is pointed in the right direction, we’d probably discover it’s heard in other parts of the galaxy.

Here are five super hot places in Miami’s Wynwood — a vibrant neighborhood known for its gorgeous street artwork, trendy restaurants, and hot dance venues — and Miami’s Downtown, the city’s urban center that boasts a vibrant arts and entertainment district.

Ready to dance to your favorite ritmo? ¡Dale!

The Dirty Rabbit

Okay, so it’s not exactly a Bad Bunny, but it is a Dirty Rabbit!

With its industrial-style decor and graffiti-covered walls, The Dirty Rabbit is one of the most exciting and lively nightlife spots in the Magic City. That’s because what started off as a neighborhood bar in 2018 has literally exploded in popularity. And there are many good reasons why.

The place boasts unique nightly themes and a party atmosphere so original that, as they like to say, “blurs the lines between fantasy and reality,” just like the surreal ambiance in Lewis Carroll’s masterpiece “Alice in Wonderland.”

The Dirty Rabbit also offers a lineup of talented DJs, live music performances, and amazing craft cocktails. Events include Happy Hours and Ladies’ Nights.

Drinks options inspired by Alice in Wonderland include Mad Hatter’s Essence and a Red Queen’s Potion, that mixes tequila with passion fruit, agave nectar and … well, you need to taste it to find out.

The creators of this distinctive venue like to pose a question: “Are you dirty enough?” Well, there’s only one way to find out, and that’s when you visit this trippy bar.

La Otra

Location: 55 NE 24th St Miami, FL 33137

Phone: (305) 908-9368

Here is another Wynwood gem, this time an upscale bar and lounge featuring lively music and an indoor/outdoor space like no other. Surrounded by lush plants, disco balls, dim lights and sweeping views of the Miami skylights, you and tu gente can enjoy the irresistible reggaeton and the cool hip-hop beats and dance the night away.

And if you’re wondering if La Otra (which translates as “the other”) is indeed that other bar with the same name formerly tucked away into a side street in Brickell, the answer is yes!

Here’s what happened: La Otra became so popular that it eventually outgrew its space, so after the pandemic shutdowns owners Jason Odio and Marcelo Medina decided to reopen La Otra in a bigger location in the cooler, artsy Wynwood neighborhood. The new place is huge, and the outdoor area has a roof to protect guests from the tropical Miami rain.

This very “Miami-vibe” cocktail bar combines the fun atmosphere of a regular bar with the more intimate feel of a lounge.

As the name suggests, the place is awash in tropical ambiance and is gorgeously illuminated by a colorful arrangement of pastel-hued neon that evokes the azure waters and pink sunsets of the Caribbean.

During the daily happy hour from 5 till 9 p.m., you can enjoy the carefully crafted drinks that are a veritable ode to Miami, from the “Downtown Mentirita” (their version of the classic Cuba Libre) to the popular “My English Is Not Very Good Looking,” inspired by the late great Cuban musical icon Celia Cruz’s comment about her English-language skills. There’s even a drink created to taste like a classic Cuban pastelito de guayaba in a glass!

That is all very nice, but if reggaeton is your thing, the monthly “No Flocks Given” party is where you can dance to funk, hip-hop, and reggaeton as Lionel Richie would say “all night long!”

It literally means “the backyard” in Spanish, so if you’re Latino, you know this is the spot for música caliente and even hotter dancing!

When El Patio first opened in Wynwood, most people considered it a bar. But this unique place evolved into a fabulous dance club, especially on weekend nights. That’s because the place gets packed with people dancing on wooden bleachers to reggaeton and drinking their favorite beers.

Weekly themes include Latino Gang Mondays and Salsa vs Reggaetón. Plus, there’s a live band! Enjoy margaritas, fancy cocktails and even hookahs.

The menu includes “antojitos” like cheese tequeños and spinach empanadas, and drinks are, you have to admit, creative. Mojibiscus, their signature mojito, is prepared with a vanilla infusion, while their golden fruit margarita includes raspberry chipotle and orange bitters.

The atmosphere is young and super fun, but the place has a “dress to impress” code and flip flops, shorts, and sportswear are not accepted.

Want to experience something truly unique? Then try Pilo’s, the world’s only tequila garden! With its two bars, stadium seating, retractable roof, and a DJ booth inside Wynwood’s only treehouse, the place is truly unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

And uniqueness is not all that Pilo’s offers. This fun space offers visitors the best of both worlds. Its colorful mural-filled indoor-outdoor space serves a great  selection of tequilas, specialty cocktails and Frozaritas, and in the gorgeously decorated, altar-style bar indoors,  guests can enjoy a delicious menu.

But if you’re looking for dancing fun, outdoors is the place to be. That’s because the enormous tequila garden also functions as an all-day restaurant, bar, and nighttime venue where guests can literally dance to reggaetón from day to late into the night.
